Answer: An ignition interlock device is a device that is installed in your vehicle and it is basically a small breath tester and it tests your breath to see if you have any alcohol on your breath. If there is alcohol on your breath, this device will not allow your vehicle to start, and if your vehicle is already running and you’re driving it will actually shut your vehicle down if it detects alcohol. So that is a device that’s installed by, there’s various providers, there’s multiple providers. You go to the provider and they install it into your vehicle, and then it has to remain in your vehicle for the amount of time that the Department of Transportation Requires.
