Question: What is a green card?

Answer: A green card is a current kind of slang term that’s used to indicate a person has legal permanent residency. Long ago, those cards were actually green and were handed out to people; however, now it’s an identification card that looks much like a driver’s license or something like that. But it indicates that you have legal, permanent residency in the United States, but you are not a citizen.
