Question: What did you have to do to earn the Forensic Lawyer-Scientist designation? How long did it take?

Answer: It takes some time because you have to take four separate, lengthy classes at Axiom Laboratory, which is the science lab in Chicago. They do high level testing in their lab, and then they also do a lot of training of different groups from all over the country. They train FBI analysts, they train private industry people that do testing on food safety, FDA, all that kind of stuff. So you have to go through a series of classes with them in order to be able to be eligible to take the test. So I now have the same training that they give to FBI analysts and other people in the industry and I’ve worked on and actually used the machines that they use to test blood and to test other forensic samples.
