Wisconsin Indecent Exposure and Public Lewdness

Question: What are indecent exposure and public lewdness under law?

Answer: Indecent exposure or public lewdness both fall under the charge of lewd and lascivious behavior. A person can be charged with this if they do either of the following: one, if the person commits an indecent act of sexual gratification with another with the knowledge that they are in the presence of others; or, two, publically and indecently expose their genitals or pubic area. This charge is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine.
