Answer: I can use the extra training and information that I received whenever there’s a forensic science issue that comes up in a case. I’ve already used it to look at testing procedure and the way they report out from the Wisconsin Lab of Hygiene and the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory. Most often, I use this—and I expect to use it going forward—cross-examining analysts that have done the actual testing in a case that we are looking at. They come to testify in court and I can cross-examine them. I also know what types of records to get from the labs and other types of information because of the training that I got.
