In The News

Sexual assault is a serious accusation that can destroy lives. But with the right defense team on your side, there is hope for every case. Gain back the trust of your friends, family and community by choosing to fight back against your charges. Tracey Wood and Associates can help you regain hope and fight back against these criminal allegations.

Fight Back Against Sexual Assault Charges

Although sex crime allegations can be detrimental, you have rights and with those rights comes power. There are several possible defenses to a sexual assault case. These include:

  • False accusation
  • No sexual contact occurred
  • Sexual contact was consensual
  • A reasonable belief that the accuser consented
  • Insufficient evidence
  • Mistaken identification

Examples of sexual assault cases:

Case: A client was charged with three counts of second degree sexual assault. Our attorneys got the state to drop the felony charges and reduce the charge to a misdemeanor. By doing this, the client avoided any felony convictions and did not have to register as a sex offender.

Result: Felony charges reduced to misdemeanor

Case: A client was charged with first degree sexual assault of a child. We believed that the client was being falsely accused so that his or her former spouse could try to get custody over the couple’s child. We were able to show the jury that the statements made against the client were the result of the custody battle. This resulted in a not guilty verdict.

Result: Not guilty verdict

Case: A client, who was a college student at the time, was charged with sexual assault. This could have resulted in incarceration and mandatory registration as a sex offender. Our attorneys were able to achieve a not guilty verdict in a jury trial and cleared the client’s name.

Result: Not guilty verdict
